Availability

I am work alone and I am rather slow so in a year I only expect to make around 50 bears.   I attend a number of bear shows and events at which I will always have some bears available for purchase on the day.  In addition I will have some for sale directly from my website on an occasional basis and if you are on my e.mailing list you will be notified when they are posted on the website.

A very limited number of carefully chosen stores also sometimes have bears available

Ordering a Bear

Subject to agreement I am happy to sometimes take personal orders for bears based on current designs.    I will accept orders based on e.mail contact but I always ask that you also provide your actual address and a telephone number so I can be certain of making contact when the delivery is due.

I may ask for a deposit for custom orders, this will be between 30% and 50% of the quoted cost of the bear excluding shipping costs.  Please read the note below about refund of deposits.

The waiting time for new orders depends on availability of fabrics and my existing schedule including commitments to shows and stores.    I am one man operation so other factors can disrupt bear production and I have no method of catching up.

Shipping

The bears are quite large and can be quite costly to ship overseas - I make every effort to make a fair estimate of the postal cost , some services make a volumetric charge so I try to use the smallest box possible.

The bears will be well packed for their journeys - I prefer to use an insured and signed-for delivery service.    In UK and Europe I normally use Royal Mail or Parcelforce.

When bears are shipped outside the EU please remember that they may be subject to customs inspection and charges in the destination country, any such charges are the buyers responsibility.  For security it is preferable for the bears to be correctly insured and for the material content to be accurately described; I will not under-value them in order to reduce any possible customs charge on arrival. Please also remember that some countries impose very strict regulations about the fibre content and on very rare occasions will quarantine natural fibres especially if they think plant material is involved such as the wood wool filling.

Payment

I ask for payment in full including post and packing in advance of shipment.   If you have made a personal order and paid a deposit then I will contact you when I am about to complete your bear and request the balance payment  and any postage before shipping  the bear.

UK Customers can use Internet Banking -  and I will provide my account details to new customers on their first purchase.

I do not have facility to accept credit or debit cards but I am happy to use paypal - it doesn’t matter if you do not have paypal account yourself I only need your e.mail address to issue an invoice.   Paypal charge me a fee to receive your payment and  I may make a discretionary additional small additional to offset this cost.

Cheques are accepted and I will mail the bear as soon as funds clear to my account.

Subject to prior discussion I will consider agreed part payments over a short period to secure the more costly bears.

Note re Deposits

If a customer decides to cancel an order  I will keep the whole deposit sum until after the bear has been sold to an alternate customer, after which I would refund the deposit but at my discretion retain a small administration fee.
