The grisly bears usual;ly have six joints, the extra one at the neck enabling extra movement to position the head.

 

Although these are designed to emulate their “wild” cousins’ habit of walking on all fours I like to make sure they are still very much Teddy Bears.   My objective is to capture something of the shape, proportion and posture of a wild bear .  I use my preferred vintage boot buttons eyes and the nose embroidery is usually set and polished.
